Here am I

People say that commitment is at an all time low in society.  Whereas many years ago, people would be quick to join a church, a fraternal society, or a community group, today, this is not the case.  Many lament and say, “What happened to commitment in today’s world?” But if one looks deeper, we still see commitment in our world. We still commit to things that we deem important, such as work, school, and extracurricular activities such as youth sports.  In fact, if one looks at what someone commits to, one can derive very quickly what is important to that someone.  In the book of Malachi, the prophet talks about commitment and priorities.  The people of God had fallen away from their commitment to God and had given priority to other things in life. Because of their decisions, they were suffering the consequences. Sound familiar? Only in giving of ourselves to God fully and completely can we live in God’s future for us.  Only by saying, “Here am I” can we begin to see God’s hand in our lives. Join us beginning September 24 as we look at the book of Malachi and together we say “Here am I” to God’s future for us.
