Ladies Enjoy Spring Luncheon

SHANNON PERRY gave a very helpful talk on “Confidence” at the UMW’s Spring Luncheon on May 13th. She listed the following five points, entitling them “What God says to Women”: 1) Never say anything negative about yourself again. 2) Never compare yourself with someone else. 3) Be willing to be different. 4) Believe in the gift God gave you. 5) Don’t let the way another person treats you determine your worth.

Between 90 and 100 ladies enjoyed a salad luncheon at tables decorated with birdhouses surrounded by fresh floral arrangements. These arrangements, as well as the tasty salads and dessert, were made by members of the UMW.
PASTOR JEFF introduced RYAN PARKER, who gave the opening prayer. RYAN is serving an Internship at our Church for 10 weeks.

Purpose
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
The UMW stresses the need for prayer. Members are asked to pray daily for our church, our nation, our families, our youth, ourselves and for our community.
A member of the United Methodist Women is one who commits herself to our Purpose and chooses to participate in meetings, prayer, giving, study, action, and/or service. The organization celebrates an inclusive membership and welcomes all women who want to be members.
The organization is a community of women who nurture and encourage one another in their spiritual growth and personal development. One becomes a member by committing to be a part of this supportive community of women and by accepting the challenge to grow in mission and to participate in life-changing experiences.
