Sunday School Class

As Christians we believe the Bible gives many examples to help people discover who Jesus is.  Jesus is the Messiah, the special one sent by God.  This unit helps children become familiar with stories that tell about Jesus as God’s son.  They will discover the meaning of the word Messiah and they will be given the opportunity to explore who Jesus is to them. 

The children will begin Sunday School in a large group and will make a banner each week of the “I Am” sayings.  The children will then divide into age groups for activities involving art, storytelling, science, cooking, music, and games.

The Bible story reference for this unit can be found in Luke 9:18-21, Matthew 16: 13-17, and Mark 8:27-29.

Our Bible verse is:  Who do you say that I am?  You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.  Matthew 16:15-16.
