THE GOOD SAMARITAN

Our rotation unit is THE GOOD SAMARITAN.  Through this story Jesus teaches us to love God and other people.  When we follow Jesus’ teachings, we show God’s love to other people, whether they live close to us or far away.

The children will explore he story of the Good Samaritan, experience being a good neighbor, and answer for themselves the question, “Who is my neighbor?”

The children will begin Sunday School in a large group and will play a cooperative game requiring players to be good neighbors or a game from another country.  Learning about the cultures of others, including the games they play, is a good way to understand them and become neighbors.  The children will then divide into age groups for activities involving art, storytelling, science, cooking, music, and games.

The Bible story reference is Luke 10:25-37.

The Bible verse is:

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all  your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.    Luke 10:27

Please read this story with your child and help them learn the Bible verse.
